ABOUT SUKHA

Welcome soul sister, I’m glad you’re here!

I’m Alex McDonald, Mamma, Yogi, Womb Therapist and Wisdom Seeker.

My life’s passion and soul work is to delve into the deep cyclical wisdom of the female essence and share that with like minded women who also feel the calling to dive deeper into themselves.

I believe that we all have an innate sense that there is so much more to who we are than the societal roles we play and the day to day activities we perform. Sukha is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning happiness, delight, joy, pleasure, ease and comfort… something I believe many of us crave and deserve more of in our everyday life.

In my experience – we invite more Sukha into our lives by coming home to ourselves and our bodies, as our true source of wisdom, intuition, magic and power.

My journey so far has led me to answer the call to wander to Australian soils from England, spend time in India immersing myself in traditional Yogic philosophy and practice, explore the multi-dimensional wisdom of the womb and most recently to the world of somatic therapy and how we can use our bodies as a portal to heal deep trauma and ancestral wounding, stress and anxiety.

Suffice to say, I LOVE working with women from all life stages. My passion is all about empowering you to discover your own inner magic, wisdom and joy by partnering with you in safety, support and love and offering tailored insights, tools and practices that lead you back home to yourself.

Sukha offers a range of therapeutic modalities and tools to support and nurture you through the seasons of your life – from Maiden, to Mother, to Wise Woman, to Crone: throughout menarche, pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, perimenopause and beyond.

I look forward to our journey together – please feel very welcome to reach out with any questions or for an informal chat to connect and find out more.

"Attending Alex’s Meditation and Mindfulness course has completely changed my life. Alex made the content easy to understand, she fostered a safe and inclusive environment for us to experience all the tools and techniques she taught us. They were practical techniques that are easy for us to implement outside of the classroom, I now meditate on the train home which has helped me to slow down, calm my anxiety and empowered me to take back control of my time."

"I really enjoyed the Meditation and Mindfulness Made Easy Course. I didn't realise that there were so many different techniques and styles of meditation, and Alex works with you to take you through the different styles and help you determine which ones work for you. She provides a modern interpretation of meditation and talks through the background on each style which I found very informative."

"I was put in touch with Alex by my sister to help with my PMDD symptoms and intense period pain. From the first Zoom call we had, I was excited to work with Alex, because she was very attentive when I described my symptoms and she made me feel as though I was talking to a close friend, but at the same time she was professional and gave me a sense that she knew what she was talking about. This was an immense encouragement for me after speaking to doctors and leaving the conversation feeling no sense of such."
