YOGA THERAPY FOR POSTNATAL RECOVERY

“Giving birth and being born brings us into the essence of creation, where the human spirit is courageous and bold and the body, a miracle of wisdom”

– Harriette Hartigan

Just pause for a moment to reflect on the living breathing miracle that is your body.

You have tenderly grown and nourished a whole new life from your very being. Pregnancy is a truly miraculous and all encompassing and unique human experience.

Nothing can quite prepare you for the range of emotions and feelings you may have after birth, let alone feeling like a foreigner at times in your post birth body.

Just like the pregnancy journey, the post partum chapter can be a challenging time to navigate – dealing with so many hormonal, physical and emotional changes happening daily AND looking after your new bundle of joy.

Self-care can easily go out of the window yet it’s the very time when you need to nourish and replenish your own reserves the most.

Our postnatal yoga therapy classes are designed to give you the time and tools to rebuild your strength and stability, offering you the space to connect back to yourself, helping you to transition into motherhood with a feeling of confidence and self-trust.

What to expect in a postnatal yoga therapy session

Classes will provide a safe and secure environment for you to explore movement in a way that feels really good in your body and to target the specific issues you’d like to work on.

We’ll work with both therapeutic movement to help rebuild and repair your post baby body and deeply relaxing rest practices in order to replenish your energy.

The first session is 90 mins, follow up sessions are 60 or 75 mins.

A typical postnatal yoga therapy session involves

  • An open, warm and supportive space for you to show up exactly as you are
  • Sharing tools and insights for optimal post birth self-care
  • Movement to promote pelvic healthy and recovery
  • Practices that build emotional stability
  • Restoring range of motion and strength
  • Rest practices than uplift and rejuvenate
  • Building self trust for the transition into motherhood
  • Connection back to self

You will leave each session with an understanding and embodied experience of a range of tools that when practiced regularly can help to support your postnatal journey.
